CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED RECORDING ARTIST LINDSAY HUGGINS UNVEILS “THEN JESUS CAME”
Christian Vocalist Calls “Then Jesus Came” Her Most Personal Album
Nashville, Tenn. (February 23, 2015) – Critically-acclaimed Christian recording artist Lindsay Huggins announces the release of her latest recording project, Then Jesus Came. The ten-song album is available now in physical CD format from Huggins’ brand new artist website, and in digital formats from Amazon, iTunes and Google Play.
Produced by Nashville icon Jerry Salley (SESAC’s 2003 Country Music Songwriter of the Year), Then Jesus Came is Huggins’ most personal album to date. “Jerry helped me find the right songs and guided the whole process,” Huggins says. “The overarching message of the project is God’s redemption - of our lives and of the things in our lives. Stylistically, it skews country, but it stretches the genre. Some songs incorporate big church choirs while others have a soulful black Gospel feel, but I think there is something for everybody.”
An addition to producing, Salley contributed a pair of songs to the project, including “Then Jesus Came,” a soul-stirring power ballad that would eventually give the project its title.
Salley is equally effusive in his praise of the young recording artist. “Lindsay Huggins is the real deal,” he declares! “One of the greatest voices I have ever had the honor of working with. Her passion to witness through her music is matched only by her desire to serve a risen Lord.”
Huggins credits Salley with helping her capture the inherent tension of each song on the project. A self-described ‘song interpreter,’ she wraps her rich vocals around each song, injecting them with warmth and charm. Beyond stretching herself as a vocalist, Huggins also broke out of her comfort zone by taking on the added responsibility of songwriter on the project. She teamed with long time family friend and chart-topping Gospel music legend, Marcia Henry, to write “Nothing He Can’t Redeem,” a Gospel-tinged barnburner that speaks directly to the album’s theme of God’s redemption. “Recording a song that I have written has been a big goal,” Huggins says. “I’m thrilled with how it turned out.”
Coinciding with the release of her latest CD is the unveiling of Huggins’ new artist website, LindsayHuggins.com, where fans can discover more about Huggins music and ministry, sign up for her newsletter and purchase her music and other products.
